A lush area in Central Singapore is Bukit Timah. It’s great for those who appreciate nature and all things botanical because of its forested slopes. One of Singapore’s significant nature preserves is Bukit Timah Hill. The Singapore Botanic Gardens and the National Orchid Garden both feature exotic plants, trees, and flowers from around the world.
One of Singapore’s longest and oldest roads, Bukit Timah Road is home to upscale bungalows, skyscraper condominiums, hotels, schools, and some of the city’s best dining establishments. The 12-minute cable car ride from Vivo City to Sentosa Island, which is immediately south of Singapore’s central business district, also offers breathtaking panoramic vistas. If all of this seems taxing, don’t worry; Sentosa Island boasts a number of gentle, sandy beaches along its southern shore that are particularly well-liked on the weekends. A dam known as the Marina Barrage was constructed in southern Singapore at the meeting point of five rivers, between Marina East and Marina South.
Three advantages result from the Marina Barrage: a water supply source, flood management, and a location for lifestyle attractions. The 15th reservoir in the heart of Singapore was created by the Marina Barrage, a dam that was built across the 350-meter-wide Marina Channel to keep out the sea.
Northeast of Singapore’s main island is the island of Pulau Ubin. The hills are crisscrossed with walkways and bicycle lanes that pass by abandoned granite quarries and old kampongs (villages). The mangroves and tidal flats of the Chek Jawa Wetlands are home to kingfishers and bulbul birds. Views of this region are provided via the Jejawi observation tower and a looped boardwalk. Statues of regional deities are housed in the Fo Shan Ting Da Bo Gong Temple.
- The Sultan Mosque, also known as Masjid Sultan, is a mosque in Singapore’s Kampong Glam neighborhood in the Rochor district. It is situated at Muscat Street and North Bridge Road. It was given Sultan Hussain Shah’s name. It received the national monument designation in 1975.
